Optional Hall Sensor Feedback for Solar Tracker Control Integration

The TOMUU U20K is available with optional Hall sensor feedback for solar tracking systems that require actuator movement information to be integrated with the tracker controller.

During actuator extension and retraction, the Hall sensor provides signal feedback that can be used by the control system for movement and position monitoring. The way this signal is processed depends on the controller, wiring and control logic used in the solar tracking system.

The Hall feedback configuration retains the U20K actuator platform specifications, including 24V DC power, 20,000N push and pull rated load and IP66 protection.

Optional Hall Sensor Feedback Configuration

The standard U20K configuration is supplied without feedback. For solar tracker projects requiring actuator movement information, a Hall sensor can be selected as an optional feedback configuration.

This allows the actuator to provide signal information during extension and retraction. The feedback signal can then be processed by the solar tracker controller according to the control strategy of the system.

Because controller interfaces and control logic vary between tracker systems, the Hall feedback configuration should be confirmed according to the actual project requirements before production.

How Hall Feedback Is Used in Solar Tracking

As the actuator extends or retracts, the Hall sensor generates feedback signals corresponding to actuator movement. These signals can be used by the tracker control system to monitor actuator movement and support position monitoring.

Hall feedback should be considered as part of the complete tracking control system rather than as a standalone positioning function. Actual positioning performance depends on the actuator configuration, controller, installation geometry, mechanical structure and system control logic.

For this reason, the required feedback method should be evaluated together with the tracker control system during actuator selection.

Controller & Wiring Integration

For projects using Hall sensor feedback, the actuator connection should be matched with the electrical interface and signal requirements of the solar tracker controller.

The U20K supports different cable and connector configurations according to project requirements. Available connection options include tinned leads and different connector options, together with different cable length options.

When requesting a Hall feedback configuration, please provide the controller interface requirements, wiring requirements and preferred connector or cable configuration so that the actuator connection can be evaluated before production.
