Precision Etched Metal Blades Custom Chemical Etching Service
Xinhaisen manufactures custom etched metal blades using precision photo chemical etching technology. Unlike conventional machining or stamping, chemical etching uses a controlled photochemical process to create complex blade profiles from thin metal sheets without mechanical cutting forces.
Our precision etched blades can be manufactured from stainless steel, spring steel, nickel, copper alloys and other compatible metals. Blade geometry, thickness, profile, holes, slots and edge patterns can be customized according to customer drawings, CAD files or samples.
The process is suitable for prototypes, small batches and volume production where precision, repeatability and complex geometry are required.
Manufacturing Process
Material Selection & Cleaning: High-carbon steel, stainless steel, or specialized alloys are selected and meticulously cleaned.
Photoresist Lamination: A light-sensitive polymer film is applied to the metal sheet.
Precision Patterning: The blade design is exposed onto the resist using high-resolution digital tooling.
Controlled Etching: The exposed metal areas are etched away with a controlled chemical solution, forming the exact blade profile and edge.
Stripping & Cleaning: The photoresist is removed, and the blades undergo thorough cleaning.
Secondary Processing: This includes optional hardening, coating, and final sharpening/honing.
100% Quality Inspection: Each batch is inspected for edge integrity, dimensional accuracy, and surface finish.

FAQ
Q: How does etched blade sharpness compare to traditionally ground
blades?
A: Etching creates a fundamentally sharp edge from the material
itself. While both methods can achieve high sharpness, etching
offers superior consistency and eliminates microscopic burrs from
mechanical deformation, often resulting in a smoother initial
shave. Final honing can be applied post-etch for ultimate
sharpness.
Q: Can you create blades with lubrication strips or specific hole
patterns?
A: Absolutely. Photochemical etching is ideal for integrating
precise micro-holes, slots, or complex patterns into the blade
design for functions like lubrication delivery, hair clearance, or
weight reduction.
Q: What are etched razor blades?
Etched razor blades are precision cutting components manufactured
by chemical etching, a process that creates burr-free edges,
intricate geometries, and high dimensional accuracy without
introducing heat or mechanical stress.
Q: What is your minimum order quantity ?
A: We are flexible to support both prototyping/low-volume needs and
mass production. Please contact us with your specific project
details.
Q: Can you work with our custom alloy or design?
A: Yes. We have extensive experience processing various metals. Our
engineering team can collaborate on optimizing your design for the
etching process and material selection.
